The Akademie für Musik und Musikpädagogik was founded in 2019 as a registered cultural and educational association in Austria under the Austrian Association Act (Vereinsgesetz 2002).
The association is officially registered with the Austrian authority under the registration number ZVR-Zahl 1462202490.
The current President of the Akademie is Lily Grosse.
Based in Austria, the Akademie promotes international cooperation in music, culture and education. Drawing on Austria’s rich musical heritage and educational tradition, it develops international cultural projects, artistic exchange initiatives and collaborative programs between institutions.
Through partnerships with universities, cultural organizations and artistic institutions, the Akademie supports long-term cooperation and cultural dialogue between Europe and Asia.
We organize international music and cultural exchange projects that connect artists, institutions and audiences across different countries and cultural traditions.
We support long-term cooperation between universities, music academies and cultural institutions, creating platforms for artistic collaboration and academic exchange.
We develop and curate thematic artistic projects and concert programs that highlight diverse musical traditions and cultural heritage.
Through festivals, concerts and international exchange activities, we create opportunities for young musicians to engage in artistic dialogue and international collaboration.

The Exilarte Cooperation Project is an international initiative by the Akademie and the Exilarte Center at the mdw. It promotes the rediscovery and performance of music by persecuted, exiled or forgotten composers through competitions, concerts and international exchange.
Her Music is a special artistic initiative dedicated to women composers and female musicians. The project highlights the contribution of women in classical music through concert programs presented within the INTERNATIONALES MUSIKFEST IN WIEN.

Bulgarian Piano Heritage is an international artistic project dedicated to promoting the piano repertoire of Bulgaria and introducing Bulgarian musical culture to wider audiences.
The Akademie promotes academic cooperation between Austrian musicians and Chinese universities. As part of this initiative, Austrian conductor Alexander Znamenskiy was invited to work with students and faculty at Sichuan Film and Television University and was appointed Guest Professor.

The Akademie organized a concert in Vienna as part of the “Master Teacher Light and Shadow Project” of the China Conservatory of Music. The program featured an Erhu solo recital by the Erhu soloist Ma Ke, presenting traditional Chinese instrumental music to Viennese audiences.

A Chinese–Austrian folk vocal exchange project connecting Chinese choral singing with the regional folk music traditions of Upper Austria, in collaboration with Krammerer Sänger from the Innviertel region.

In collaboration with the Shanghai Huju Opera Theatre, this project brings Chinese stage art to Vienna through performances and artistic exchange, strengthening cultural dialogue between Vienna and Shanghai.
